Principle 2. Scale decouples from headcount by design

In a traditional operating model, growth requires proportional headcount. You serve twice as many customers. You need roughly twice as many people doing the work. The ratio is never exactly one to one, but it is directionally true. The labor cost of growth is a constraint that every business model has to manage.

The way the organization is structured to make decisions, deploy agents, handle exceptions, and scale without proportional headcount growth determines what the organization can do that competitors cannot. That is competitive advantage. It does not come from the technology. It comes from the organizational design built on top of the technology.
